Fayette County Hospital announces plans to open wound care clinic Aug. 2

Fayette County Hospital recently announced plans to open an outpatient wound care clinic on Aug. 2.
The clinic is designed to treat patients with chronic or slow-healing wounds that have shown little or no signs of healing over the course of 30 to 60 days. The clinic offers advanced treatments where only traditional methods have been available previously.
The medical professionals in the wound care clinic have had extensive training in wound care, and they bring a comprehensive range of services to the community, said Greg Starnes, chief executive officer at the hospital.
“The goal of our wound care program is to significantly increase the healing rate for patients who suffer from wounds,” Starnes said.
Marci Barth, chief nursing officer, added: “We are very excited about partnering with Wound Care Specialists to provide a wound management clinic at our hospital. With the addition of the wound care clinic, patients needing treatment for chronic and slow-healing wounds will be able to remain in our community for their specialized care.”
