Betty J. Jones, 75, Vandalia

Betty Jean Jones, 75, of Vandalia, died at 5:58 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Hohlt and File Funeral Home in Vandalia. Burial will be in South Hill Cemetery in Vandalia. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of services on Saturday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be shared at www.hohltandfilefh.com.

Mrs. Jones was born on July 18, 1937, in Vandalia, the daughter of Robert G. and Margaret Hornbeck McMillan. She married Bennie R. Jones on Nov. 14, 1952; he died on Sept. 15, 2004.

She was a housekeeper for local offices in Vandalia.

She is survived by a daughter, Kathy and her husband Stephen Sublette of Seattle, Wash.; son, Dicky Jones of Taylorville; brother, Gilbert “Gib” McMillan of Vandalia; 11 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Steven Johnson; and brother, Robert McMillan.
