Seventh license violation nets two-year prison terms
A rural Brownstown man who had been convicted numerous times of driving while his license was suspended or revoked has been sent to prison on that charge.
Dennis A. Arnold, 66, pleaded guilty on May 7 to driving while his license was revoked through a plea agreement.
That agreement included a two-year prison term for Arnold, and it also included a two-year term for a probation revocation.
He was on probation for driving while his license was revoked.
The two prison terms will be served concurrently.
Fayette County State’s Attorney Stephen Friedel charged Arnold on Oct. 14 of last year with driving while his license was revoked.
The charge, which alleged a violation of the offense on Sept. 30 of last year, is a Class 4 felony punishable by up to three years in prison, or up to six years in prison for individuals eligible for extended terms.
In the charge filed last October, Friedel noted that Arnold had been convicted of driving while his license was revoked or suspended six times.
