Michael E. ‘Mike’ Landreth, 52, St. Peter

Michael E. “Mike” Landreth, 52, of St. Peter, died at 4:35 a.m. on Monday, April 16, 2012, in his home.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in St. Peter, with the Rev. Douglas Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Ambuehl Cemetery in rural St. Peter. Visitation was to be held from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday at Pagel Funeral Home in St. Peter and one hour before services on Thursday at the church. Memorials: Farina Ambulance, St. Peter First Responders or St. Peter Area Cancer Support Fund.

Mr. Landreth was born on Nov. 26, 1959, in Effingham, the son of Glen and Minnie V. Long Landreth. He married Annette Bergman on Nov. 6, 1982, in St. Peter.

He worked as a correctional officer at Vandalia Correctional Center, where he was also a tactical unit member. He loved to watch his kids play sports, and was a member of Salem Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife; sons, Shane Landreth and his fiancée Alecia Berg of Farina, and Kyle Landreth of St. Peter; daughter, Kayla and her husband Doug of Salem; brothers, Joe Landreth and his wife Barb of LaClede, Garold Landreth and his wife Kathy of LaClede, and Jim Landreth of Kankakee; sisters, Mary Lou and her husband Clyde Murry of Flora, Irma and her husband Jesse Simmons of LaClede, and Debbie and her husband Mike Smith of Farina.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ronald “Ron” Landreth and two in infancy; and sisters, Louise Jenkins and Wanda Adams.
