Seibert Hoover, 84, St. Peter

Seibert Hoover, 84, of St. Peter, died on Thursday morning at his home.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at Zion Lutheran Church in Loogootee. Burial will be in Old Loogootee Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday at Pagel Funeral Home in St. Peter and one hour prior to services at the church. Memorials: Old Loogootee Cemetery or Zion Lutheran Church.

Mr. Hoover was born on Nov. 15, 1927, in Fayette County, the son of Clyde and Marie Schwarm Hoover. He married Rosalie Van Sant on Dec. 1, 1951, in Farina.

He was a retired farmer and Army veteran. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Loogootee, serving on the church council for several terms, and was a former member of the Fayette County Soil & Water Conservation District Board and Old Loogootee Cemetery Board of Trustees. He was a former 4-H leader and won the Outstanding Farmer of Fayette County Award in 1962.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years; sons, Steve Hoover and his wife Dawn, and Greg Hoover and his wife Julie, both of St. Peter; and grandchildren, Matt Hoover and his wife Anne, Tricia Hoover, Nate Hoover, Amber and her husband Bill Foster, Aleah Runge and special friend Shannon Demain, and Audra and her husband Theron Arnold.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Gail, in infancy; granddaughter, Melissa; and a brother, Donald.
