Philip L. Hopkins, 64, of Edinburg, and formerly of Vandalia, died at 12:14 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012, in the emergency room at Taylorville Memorial Hospital in Taylorville.
Services were held at 7 p.m. last Thursday at McClure Funeral Home in Taylorville, with the Rev. Steve Switzer officiating. Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. last Thursday. Memorials: American Heart Association or St. John’s Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit.
Mr. Hopkins was born on June 14, 1947, in Springfield, the son of Marvin and Cora M. Rhodes Hopkins. He married Nancy L. Ballard on Feb. 14, 1970, in Ramsey.
He is survived by his wife; son, Jason Hopkins and his wife Aubrey of Taylorville; and daughter, Sara and her husband Robert Murphy of Petersburg.
