The Vandalia Campus is offering an extensive series of sign language classes for both children and their caregivers.
The classes are offered Tuesday and Thursday mornings for both 2- and 3-year-olds.
The topics include eat and drink, clothing, play, mom and dad, pets, nice words, bedtime and many more.
This course is open to all children and caregivers, both hearing-impaired and non-hearing-impaired.
The cost for each four-session block is $20 per caregiver.
Each child is required to have an adult caregiver. There is no cost for the child.
• Class 5: “Clothing and Play” – Class will be held Tuesday, Feb. 7, from 9-10 a.m. for 2-year-olds and 10:05-11:05 a.m. for 3-year-olds.
• Class 6: “Here I Go” – Class will be held Thursday, Feb. 9, from 9-10 a.m. for 2-year-olds and 10:05-11:05 a.m. for 3-year-olds.
• Class 7: “My Nice Words” – Class will be held Tuesday, Feb. 14, from 9-10 a.m. for 2-year-olds and 10:05-11:05 a.m. for 3-year-olds.
• Class 8: “Bedtime” – Class will be held Thursday, Feb. 16, from 9-10 a.m. for 2-year-olds and 10:05-11:05 a.m. for 3-year-olds.
The registration numbers for the classes are COED 5414 VA03D (age 2) and COED 5414 VA04D (age 3)
The next sessions of class will be March 13-“Day and Night;" March 15-“Outside;" March 20-“Strollin’:" and March 22-“Bugs Stop, Bugs Go.”

Digital photography
The Kaskaskia College Office of Continuing/Community Education will offer a digital photography course in Vandalia.
This class will be held Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 6-7, from 6-8 p.m.
The registration number is COED 5428 VA01E. The class will be held at SE Photographie, located at 900 W. Gallatin St. in Vandalia.
Students will get to know their digital cameras and learn to take superior images. Students will also learn techniques to improve their action, portrait, scenic, travel, outdoor and wildlife portraits.
Students should take their digital cameras to the class.
The cost for students under 60 is $20; students over 60 may register at no cost.

Extreme couponing
The Kaskaskia College Office of Continuing/Community Education will offer an extreme couponing course at the Vandalia Center.
This class will be held Saturday morning, Feb. 18, from 9-11 a.m. The registration number is COED 8058 VA02W.
Students will learn to get coupons, organize their shopping trips and save money. Some computer experience is necessary for this course.
Students over 60 may register at no cost; the cost for students under 60 is $10.
