Kenneth J. Daniels, 77, Florida
Kenneth Joe Daniels, 77, of Pensacola, Fla., formerly or Ramsey, passed away peacefully with family and friends at his side on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel in Pensacola, with Dr. Dale Patterson officiating. Burial will be in Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola. His children, grandchildren and son-in-law will be pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Monday at the chapel. Memorials: East Brent Baptist Church, 4801 N. Mr. Daniels was born in Ramsey, the son of George and Bessie Daniels.
He graduated from Ramsey High School, where he lettered in basketball and track, and he served in the U.S. Air Force for four years right out of high school. He later worked for Mercantile Inc., Roots Division, in Terre Haute, Ind., for 15 years, and for Gayfers Division in Pensacola, Fla., as a furniture buyer from 1975 until he retired in 1996. He was a member of East Brent Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Meredith Anne Daniels; children, Mark and his wife Robin, Tim and his wife Amy, Kelly and her husband Joe, and Jon and his wife Jennice, and their son Ryan; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and expecting one more; brothers, Gene Daniels and his wife Bev, and Jim Daniels and his wife Marilyn; sister-in laws, Zola and Marion; many nieces and nephews; Gloria Connard, mother of his children; and his loving and faithful Dalmation, Elle.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Leigh, Roy and Ray; sisters, Georgia Watts, Virginia Spires and Barbara Daniels; a son, David Barth; and a daughter, Lynne Daniels.
