Mary Marler, 83, Mulberry Grove

Mary Marler, 83, of the Mulberry Grove area, died at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 30, 2011, at Greenville Regional Hospital in Greenville.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Mulberry Grove First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Benjamin Potter officiating. Burial was in Sunset Hills Cemetery in Edwardsville. Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. on Monday and from 10 a.m. until time of services on Tuesday, both at the church. Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Marler was born on Oct. 12, 1928, in Joppa, the daughter of John Raymond and Mayme Mary Louise Krueger Fisher. She married Delmar Leon Marler on Dec. 24, 1948, in Granite City; he died on March 2, 1987.

She is survived by children, Edna LaJune and her husband Russell Wayne Smock, and Leon Marler and his wife Patty, both of rural Mulberry Grove.
