Joan E. Griffin, 77, Witt

Joan Eileen Griffin, 77, of Witt, died at 7:39 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 25, 2011, at St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Bass, Patton, Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro, with the Rev. Myron Kirk officiating. Burial will be in Irving Cemetery in Witt. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of services on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials: Montgomery County Cancer Association. Mrs. Griffin was born on July 13, 1934, in Evanston, the daughter of Phillip and Vivian DeRogue O’Meara. She married Robert Lee Hellman; they later divorced. She married Carl Lee Griffin, and they were married for 43 years.

She is survived by her husband; and children, Dawn and her husband Walt King of Irving, Cindy and her husband John Hoover of Crossville, Tenn., Rob Hellman and his wife Tammy of Vandalia, Richard Griffin and his wife Angela of Charleston, and Ronald Griffin and his wife Stacey of Springfield, Mo.
