Linda M. Elam, 66, Troy
Linda M. Elam, 66, of Troy, and formerly of Mulberry Grove, died on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011, at Relias Bonne Eau Community Hospice Home in Edwardsville.
Services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at Meadow Heights Baptist Church in Collinsville, with the Revs. Roger Wright and Mike Barnes officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery, Mulberry Grove. Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center St., Maryville. Mrs. Elam was born on Aug. 27, 1945, in Smithboro, the daughter of Lester and Lydia Kern Dothager. She married Lawrence E. Elam on Oct. 16, 1965.
She graduated from Mulberry Grove High School in 1963, and retired from Ameritech after 20 years of service. She was a member of Meadow Heights Baptist Church in Collinsville, and she enjoyed volunteering at the Collinsville Food Pantry, shopping, cooking, traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
She is survived by her husband; daughters, Michelle and her husband Ken Noll of Edwardsville, and Paula Barr of Troy; grandchildren, Jordyn Barr of Glen Carbon, Devon and Lauryn Barr of Troy, and Gabriel, Jadyn and Reece Noll of Edwardsville; brothers, Donald Dothager and his wife Judy of Vandalia, and Gerald Dothager of Smithboro; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister-in-law, Carole Dothager.
