Coroner gives info on two deaths

Fayette County Coroner Bruce Bowen has released information on two recent deaths.
Bowen was called to the home of Arthur Martin early last Friday morning.
Bowen said that Martin, 54, has sustained what he determined to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He pronounced Martin dead at 6:54 a.m. on Friday.
Early Monday morning, Bowen said, a rural Mason man was found dead in a bean field in Fayette County.
The man was identified as Allan Morris, 63, of Mason.
According to Bowen, Morris was traveling east on County Road 1750 in a utility vehicle when he experienced a heart attack.
The coroner said that Morris’s vehicle left the roadway, and that Morris was thrown from the vehicle.
Bowen pronounced Morris dead at the scene at 7:37 a.m.
An autopsy was conducted on Tuesday, and the case remains under investigation by Bowen.

Maranatha’s to host fundraiser Oct. 20
Maranatha’s Salon, Spa and Tanning will host a fundraiser for a digital mammography machine at Fayette County Hospital.
“Keep Abreast/Spread the Love” will include a cut-athon from 3-6 p.m. at Maranatha’s.
A drawing will be held at The Copper Penny at 7 p.m. Prizes include an iPad2, Botox, a day of beauty and spa, and a Glo Mineral & Therapeutic give-away.
