? A Govabuse Nationwide Protest will be held at the Fayette County Courthouse, 221 S. Seventh St., Vandalia. The purpose of the Govabuse protest is to "force reformation of our county family/juvenile courts, and children and family services."
? Free pre-kindergarten screening for children up to age 5 will be held from 8-11:30 a.m. at Brownstown Elementary School. Call 427-3368 to make an appointment. Ages and Stages screenings will also be available for children up to 3 years of age.

? The Vandalia Junior High School cheer squads will hold a car wash from 9 a.m.-noon at Sunset 66, located at Sunset Drive and Veterans Avenue. Donations will be accepted for car washes.

? The Vandalia Women of the Moose will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Vandalia Moose Lodge.
? The VFW Auxiliary will meet at 7 p.m. at the VFW Home on West St. Louis Avenue in Vandalia.

? The Vandalia Rotary Club will meet at noon at Ponderosa Steakhouse.
? The Fayette County Board of Health will meet at 6 p.m. at the Fayette County Health Department office in the 400 block of West Edwards Street in Vandalia.
? The annual meeting of the Mid-Kaskaskia River Basin Coalition will be held in the basement of the Fayette County Farm Bureau office on Sunset Drive in Vandalia. A potluck is at 6 p.m., followed by the annual meeting at 7 p.m. Meat and drinks will be furnished, and those planning to attend are asked to take a covered dish.
