Carolyn J. Stilt, 67, of Vandalia, edied at 9:55 p.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2011, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
Memorials services were held on Sunday, July 24, at First Christian Church in Vandalia. Burial services will be held at Fairlawn Cemetery. Memorials: The family.
Mrs. Stilt was born on May 10, 1944, in Seminary Township, Fayette County, the daughter of Ernest Edward and Hazel Helen Voris Eller. She married Frederick J. Stilt on April 27, 1968; he died on Jan. 10, 2011.
She is survived by a son, John Edward Stilt and his wife Crystal of Vandalia; stepsons, Terry Stilt and his wife Kristy of Fenton, Mo., and Brian Stilt and his wife Michelle of Greenville; sisters, Lu Forbis of Vandalia and Rosemary McMillian of rural Vandalia; aunt, Farrell Gruenbaum; grandchildren, Andrew, Joseph, Breese, Mistie and D.J. Stilt; and stepgrandchildren, Kaitlyn and Allison Stilt.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brothers, Larry Eller and Ted Eller.
