Nelda L. Hopkins, 92, Mulberry Grove

Nelda L. Hopkins, 92, of Mulberry Grove, died on Monday, July 18, 2011, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

Services were held on Saturday at First Baptist Church in Mulberry Grove, with the Revs. Benjamin Potter and Kenneth Hall officiating. Burial was in Taylor Cemetery. Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday at the church. Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Mulberry Grove was in charge of arrangements. Memorials: First Baptist Church of Mulberry Grove.

Mrs. Hopkins was born on April 17, 1919, in Pittsburg, the daughter of Clarence and Mable Rench Eller. She married Elbert James Hopkins on Sept. 5, 1936, in Pittsburg; he died on Jan. 6, 1993.

She is survived by a son, Charles Hopkins and his wife Loretta of Davenport, Fla.; and daughters, Janet Holmes of Lincoln, Sue and her husband David Snodgrass of Ferdinand, Idaho, and Cheri and her husband Vernie Spies of Greenville.
