Jeannette M. Bessler, 87, North Carolina

Jeannette Marie Bessler, 87, of Greensboro, N.C., and formerly of Vandalia and Greenville, died at 9:07 p.m. on Friday, June 10, 2011, in Greensboro.

A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at the Carillon in Greensboro.

Mrs. Bessler was born on Sept. 18, 1923, in Evanston, the daughter of Caesar and Mary Kalck LeClerq. She married George Bessler on Jan. 12, 1944.

She was a retired assistant comptroller at McHenry Hospital in McHenry.

She is survived by her husband; foster son, Rodney Mason of Decatur; daughters, Judy and her husband David Crawford of Vandalia, Mary and her husband Donald Rierson of Summerfield, N.C., Kaye Bessler of Columbus, Ohio, Jean Bessler of Puyallup, Wash., and Cheryl Riley of Aurora, Colo; sister, Margaret Sundby of Springfield; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.
