Judy Diveley, 82, Vandalia

Judy Diveley, 82, of Vandalia, died on Sunday, May 29, 2011, at her home.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia, with the Rev. Joe Lawson officiating. Burial will be in Evans Cemetery in rural Vandalia. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of services on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials: Baptist Children’s Home in Carmi. Online condolences may be offered at www.millerfh.net.

Mrs. Diveley was born on Jan. 15, 1929, in Monroe County, Miss., the daughter of Ori W. and Flossie Mae Taylor Towry. She married Larry Diveley.

She was affiliated with the Baptist faith and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary in Vandalia. She was a former waitress and Witte Hardware employee.

She is survived by her husband; sons, Dale Patterson and his wife Karen, Steve Patterson and Matt Waltz; daughter, Dixie Carter and her husband Brad; stepchildren, Travis Diveley, Tracy and her husband Rick Cagle, and Kelly Diveley; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
