Schroeder selected for Boys State

Crawford-Hale American Legion Post 95 of Vandalia has selected Christian Schroeder, a junior Vandalia Community High School, to attend Illinois 76th annual session of Boys State.

Schroeder is the son of Kim and Kevin Schroeder of Vandalia.
Eastern Illinois University, Charleston will host Boys State on June 11-17.
This is a seven-day, hands-on experience in the operation and fundamentals of government.
The program draws together the best and brightest high school juniors to help lead them down the path of individual success and leadership through doing, not just learning.
They work together and form a state that is unlike any other. By using their unique ideas and beliefs, they shape the program and their own state.
Activities include legislative sessions, court proceedings, law enforcement presentations, assemblies and seminars.
