Michael A. ‘Mike’ Rush, 49, Vandalia

Michael Aaron “Mike” Rush, 49, of Vandalia, died on Monday, Jan. 24, 2011, at Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Bethel Baptist Church in rural Vandalia, with the Revs. Dan Rush and Joe Lawson officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday at Hohlt & File Funeral Home in Vandalia and one hour before services on Friday at the church. Memorials: Bethel Baptist Church.
Mr. Rush was born on Sept. 24, 1961, in Joliet, the son of Roy R. and Jacqulin Atchison Rush. He married Denise Dennis on Sept. 13, 1986, in Plainfield.
He worked in construction/carpentry, and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in rural Vandalia. He enjoyed needlepoint and woodworking, and was a loyal New England Patriots fan.
He is survived by his mother, of Vandalia; wife; sons, Jake and Zachary Rush, both of Vandalia; daughters, Katyn and Kendall Rush, both of Vandalia; brothers, Dan Rush and his wife Kathy of Vandalia, and Scott Rush and his wife Tami of Braidwood; sister, Melissa Johnson and her fiancé Rick Locher of Joliet; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
