Frederick J. ‘Fred” Stilt Jr., 75, Vandalia

Frederick John “Fred” Stilt Jr., 75, of Vandalia, died at 11:39 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 10, 2011, at his home.

Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery in Vandalia at a later date. Visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m. on Friday at Hohlt & File Funeral Home in Vandalia.

Mr. Stilt was born on Oct. 30, 1935.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Jean Eller Stilt of Vandalia; brother, Ralph Ronald Stilt and his wife Beverly of Wisetown; sons, Terry Richard Stilt and his wife Kristy and children Kaitlyn and Allison of Fenton, Mo., Brian Lee Stilt and his wife Michelle and children Kevin and Kellie of Greenville, and John Edward Stilt and his wife Crystal and children Andrew, Joseph, Breese, Mistie and D.J. of Vandalia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick John Stilt and Marcella Laura Pausch; and sister, Geraldine Stilt Jenne, wife of Jewel.
