R. June Atchison, 93, Vandalia

R. June Atchison, 92, of Vandalia, and formerly of Vandalia, died at 3:05 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010, at Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at G.A.R. Cemetery in Homer, with the Rev. Dan Rush officiating. Visitation was held from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday at Hohlt & File Funeral Home in Vandalia. Memorials: Bethel Baptist Church in rural Vandalia.

Mrs. Atchison was born on June 14, 1917, in Homer, the daughter of John and Jessie May Caldwell. She married William Lorel Atchison on March 28, 1936; he died in April 1981.

She is survived by a daughter, Jacqulin Rush of Vandalia.
