ETSN Marion M. Mayfield
ETSN Marion M. Mayfield is now stationed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, abord the USS Texas SSN775.
Mayfield, the son of Layne and Brenda Mayfield of rural Vandalia and a 2006 graduate of Vandalia Community High School, enlisted in the Army in December 2008.
He started basic training at Great Lakes Recruit Training Center in January 2009 and graduated in March of that year.
He then started Naval Submarine School in Groton, Conn., graduating on Jan. 14 of this year.
He is the grandson of Lyle and Doris Mayfield of Greenville, and Iva Duckworth of rural Mulberry Grove.

Jonathan C. Doyle
Jonathan C. Doyle graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, on May 21, 2010.
In attendance for the graduation ceremony were his parents, Mary Alderson, and Albert and Lisa Doyle; and his sister, Sarah Myers.
He is now enrolled in the weatherman training program at Keesler Air Force Base in Mississippi.
