New city administrator quits before he starts

Vandalia officials learned late on Monday that they will have to begin a new search for a city administrator.

On the day that he was to begin working in that position, John McIntyre told city officials that he would not be taking the job.

Mayor Rick Gottman said that McIntyre verbally and in writing cited personal and family issues for not taking the job.
