Joseph M. ‘Joe’ Weller, 86, Mattoon
Joseph M. “Joe” Weller, 86, of Mattoon, and formerly of Ramsey, Paris and Macon, died at 2:45 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010, at the Odd Fellow-Rebekah Home in Mattoon.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday at Fairlawn Cemetery in Vandalia, with Dr. Ward Sussenbach officiating. Friends and family may gather at the cemetery at 2:15 p.m. Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia was in charge of arrangements. Memorials: Boys Town U.S.A., National Alzheimer’s Association or American Diabetes Association.
Mr. Weller was born on June 25, 1924, in Ramsey, the son of William Frederick and Katherine Lois Garrett Weller. He married Addalee L. Spooner on Aug. 2, 1951, in Nashville, Ill.; she died on Aug. 28, 1996.
He was a retired manager for Arrow Auto Parts in Paris, Ill. He was a member of South Shores Christian Church in Decatur, Golden Circle Seniors in Ramsey and Parkview Free Methodist Church in Vandalia.
He is survived by a son, Berl Weller and his wife Jacci; daughters, Kim and her husband Mike Gentry, and Tammy and her husband Marty Kapper; grandchildren, Dustin, Christoper, Eric, Joseph, Lorraine, Bryce and Angel; and great-grandchildren, Ryan, Colten, Paige and Charlayne.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a daughter, Debra Robinson, in 2008; brothers, Don and Paul; and a sister, Marjorie Cook.
