Blackburn College
Blackburn College has announced those students named to its spring 2010 dean’s list.
Earning a grade point average of 4.0 were Beth Campbell, daughter of Timmy and Glori Campbell; and Tiffany Gould, daughter of Ron and Tena Gould, both of Vandalia; and Nicole Opfer, daughter of Craig and Amy Opfer, and Staci Smithson, daughter of Darin Smithson, both of Shobonier.
Founded in 1837, Blackburn College is a four-year, Presbyterian-related, co-educational liberal arts college,  located between Springfield, Ill. and St. Louis, Mo. The college is one of just seven work colleges in the nation, and the only one with a student-managed work program.
Blackburn combines a rigorous academic program with 11 NCAA Division III athletic teams, more than 30 campus clubs and student organizations, and a beautiful small-town campus. Blackburn’s tuition is the lowest of all private, four-year residential colleges in Illinois and among the lowest in the United States.

Taylor University
Nate Wheeler of Ramsey was named to the spring 2010 dean’s list at Taylor University.
Wheeler is a senior majoring in Communication Studies, and is a local high school graduate.
Full-time students are named to the dean’s list when they have earned a GPA of 3.60 or higher for the term and at least 12 hours carry credit point values.
Founded in 1846, Taylor University is an interdenominational liberal arts university of evangelical faith located in Upland, Ind. The 2010 U.S. News and World Report survey America’s Best Colleges ranked Taylor the No. 1 Baccalaureate College in the Midwest. It marked Taylor’s third-straight top ranking following 10 straight years of being ranked in the region’s top three.
Taylor University is a member of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU).
