Motown Technology and Sports Facility Inc. notified Vandalia officials on Tuesday morning that its Vandalia project is officially dead.
In a letter received on Tuesday morning by City Clerk Peggy Bowen, Motown CEO Kenneth Bardwell notified the city that it no longer plans to proceed with its plans for a $300-million sports and entertainment facility in Vandalia.
Along with the letter, which is dated June 1, Bardwell enclosed a payment of $17,500 for reimbursement of a traffic study the city had performed for the project. The payment was made with three checks.
