Judith I. Verdeyen, 56, Altamont

Judith I. Verdeyen, 56, of Altamont, and formerly of Vandalia, died at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at St. Clare Catholic Church in Altamont, with Monsignor Leo J. Enlow officiating. Burial was in St. Clare Cemetery in Altamont. Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, with a wake service at 7:30 p.m. Gieseking Funeral Home in Altamont was in charge of arrangements. Memorials: The family or donor’s choice.

Mrs. Verdeyen was born on May 19, 1953, in Vandalia, the daughter of William and Joanne Sidener Marlow. She married Donald Verdeyen on March 16, 1974, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in St. Elmo.

She is survived by her husband; mother, of Altamont; sons, Joshua Verdeyen of Altamont and Aaron Verdeyen of Effingham; and daughters, Rebecca and her husband Tom Black of West Terre Haute, Ind., and Bettina and her husband Mike Reinwald of Lonedell, Mo.
