BREAKING NEWS: Vandalia beats South Central to place ninth at VHT

Vandalia picked up its first and only win of the 38th annual Vandalia Holiday Tournament on Wednesday afternoon against Fayette County foe, South Central, 59-39.

The Vandals were lead by Marty Johnson with 16 points.

Vandalia was getting production from all over the court from the early minutes on. Daniel Bell knocked down back-to-back shots to the start of the second quarter, putting Vandalia up 20-11.

Will Cowger was a big contributor throughout the afternoon as he scored eight straight points for the Vandals during a run in the fourth quarter, to finish with 14 and seven rebounds.

Cody Norris continued to play well off the bench for Vandalia as he scored six points and five boards.

South Central had a tournament-high 39 points in the finale, led by Shane Donoho’s 14 points and eight rebounds.

Both schools finished pool play 0-4.
