Kent S. ‘Harpo’ Robertson, 57, Indiana
Kenton Stevenson “Harpo” Robertson, 57, of Terre Haute, Ind., and formerly of Vandalia, died on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009, at his home.
Private burial will be held at a later date. Visitation was held on Sunday at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home in Terre Haute. Memorials: Humane Society or donor’s choice.
Mr. Robertson was born on May 21, 1952.
He received his bachelor’s degree from Indiana State University and his master’s degree from Butler University, both in education. He taught school in Clay, Vigo and Putnam counties in Indiana, and in Madison and Fayette counties in Illinois. He was a teacher and coach at Vandalia Community High School. He was a member of the Terre Haute Marine Corps League-Joseph A. Bray No. 471 and American Legion Post 777, and was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 972. He served in the Army and was stationed in Okinawa. He was a lover of sports, with golf being his passion.
He is survived by his wife; Shari; stepdaughter, Whitney and her husband Larry Brown; brother, Brent Robertson and his wife Diane of Carmel, Ind.; nephews, Brent Robertson and his wife Mary of Indianapolis, and David Robertson and his wife Amy of Memphis, Tenn.; great-nieces, Shelby and Janie; uncle, Glenn Stevenson and his wife Ada Mae of Cory, Ind.; and aunts, Lois and Juanita Robertson of Nashville, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his parents, C.I. and Mary Ann Stevenson Robertson, formerly of Cory, Ind.
