Elvy G. Bolyard, 76, Vandalia

Elvy Gene Bolyard, 76, of Vandalia, died at 10:55 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009, at Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia.

The body of Mr. Bolyard was cremated at the family’s request. No services are planned at this time. Hohlt & File Funeral Home in Vandalia was in charge of arrangements. Memorials: The family.

Mr. Bolyard was born on Aug. 20, 1933, the son of Elvy and Ruth Bethard Bolyard. He married Karen Schmitt on Dec. 26, 1960.

He worked at Poland Ford Tractor Sales and was a 10-year employee of PolyPak in Vandalia. He served in the Air Force and was a member of the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife; son, Jeff Bolyard; brother-in-law, Wayne Reeter; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Kenny Bolyard; and a sister, Shirley Reeter.
