King hit a three-run homer in the second and Tyler Gillett followed with a two-run double later in the inning to help them build the almost-insurmountable lead.

The Cardinals were able to cut the score to 9-5 in the sixth, but their rally came up short. South Central scored again in the seventh on a solo shot by Gesell, giving the Cougars a 10-5 lead.
