Joyce M. Martin, 71, Mulberry Grove

Joyce M. Martin, 71, of Mulberry Grove, died at 3:50 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at Fair Oaks Nursing Home in Greenville.

Services will be held at a later date. Young Funeral Home in Greenville was in charge of arrangements. Memorials: The family.

Mrs. Young was born on Marhc 20, 1938, in Missouri, the daughter of Luther and Laurene Dilks Counts. She married Vernon C. Martin on April 23, 1955, in St. Louis, Mo.

She lived in Jerseyville as a youth, and lived in Carlinville before moving to Mulberry Grove in 1965. She had worked in housekeeping at Greenville Regional Hospital.

She is survived by her husband; sons, Mike Martin of Ramsey, Dennis Martin of Bell City, Dan Martin of Vandalia, and David Martin of White Hall; daughter, Brenda Epping-Fate of Patoka; brothers, Larry Counts of Dow, Bob Counts of California, and Bill Counts of Otterville; sisters, Wanda Counts of Otterville, Mary Warner of Fieldon and Linda Counts of Fieldon; 12 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
