Robert C. ‘Bob’ Williams, 81, Texas

Robert Charles “Bob” Williams, 81, of Leander, Texas, and formerly of Vandalia, died at 7:02 p.m. on Sunday, July 12, 2009, at Seton Hospital in Round Rock, Texas.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at Mother of Dolors Catholic Church in Vandalia, with the Rev. Joseph Havrilka officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Mother of Dolors Catholic Cemetery in Vandalia. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia.

Mr. Williams was born on May 9, 1928, in St. Louis, Mo., the son of Edward Charles and Alverna Mary Sodomka Williams. He married Juanita Boyer in 1948. He married Lenore “Lee” Johnson in 1977.

He was a retired master plumber, and was affiliated with the Catholic Church and Plumbers & Steam Fitters Local No. 137 of Springfield. He served in the Marine Corps.

He is survived by his wife; son, Scott Williams and his wife Cindy of Springfield; daughter, Susan Irwin of Springfield; grandchildren, Justin, Travis, Alex and Josey; and a great-grandchild, Nadalie.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, John O. Williams, in 2001.
