Fannie M. Otto, 78, Ramsey
Fannie Mae Otto, 78, of Ramsey, died at 6:42 a.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2009, at Friendship Manor in St. Elmo.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday at First Baptist Church in Ramsey, with the Rev. Glenn Sparks, the Rev. Larry O’Dell and Kari Otto officiating. Burial will be in Ramsey Cemetery in Ramsey. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday and one hour prior to services on Monday, both at the church. Hohlt & File Funeral Home in Vandalia was in charge of arrangements. Memorials: Donor’s choice.
Mrs. Otto was born on Nov. 23, 1930, in Enterprise, Ala., the daughter of Sam Carroll and Ida Bell More Strickland. She married Raymond Otto on Feb. 5, 1952, in Enterprise, Ala.
She was a laborer at Crane Packing in Vandalia, and a member of First Baptist Church in Ramsey.
She is survived by sons, Leon Otto and his wife Cathy of Ramsey, and Blaine Otto and his wife Tina of Ramsey; daughters, Joan Collier of Wooster, Ohio, Darlene and her husband Steve Peckron of Buford, Ga., and Patricia and her husband David Nash of Green Valley; brother, Freemond Strickland and his wife Virginia of Lakeland, Fla.; sisters, Annie Mac Ballard of Elba, Ala., and Margaret and her husband Jimmy Calvert of Hamilton, Ala.; 17 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Johnny, Walter, Sam, Woodrow and Preston Ray Otto; sisters, Jewel Cee Andrews, Louise Smith and Jessie Johnson; and one granddaughter.
