Rayvone Swindle, 66, of Vandalia, died at 10:15 p.m. on Sunday, March 8, 2009, at Vandalia Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Vandalia.
No services are planned. Hohlt & File Funeral Home in Vandalia was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Swindle was born on June 29, 1942, in Eldridge, Ala., the son of Roy Lee and Opal Williamson Swindle.
He was a greeter at Wal-Mart in Kansas, an Army veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion in Leavenworth, Kan.
He is survived by daughters, Donna and her husband Ernie Phillips of Ashley, Sue and her husband Chet Swarms of Patoka, Linda French of Seattle, Wash., and Debra Swindle, address unknown; son, Dale Swindle, address unknown; brothers, Billy Swindle of Jackson, Miss., and Carlton Swindle, address unknown; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
