James ‘Harry’ Warner, 82, Maroa

James “Harry” Warner, 82, of Maroa, died at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009, at McKinley Court in Decatur.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. this Friday at Calvert Funeral Home in Decatur, with Chaplain Jim Johnson officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Maroa Cemetery, Maroa. Visitation will be held an hour before services on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials: American Cancer Society.

Mr. Warner was born on June 25, 1926, in New England, N.D., the son of William Ray and Sarah Dial Warner.

He was employed at General Electric for 25 years as an injection mold technician. Later, he was employed with Local No. 703 of the Laborers’ International Union at the Clinton Nuclear Plant. He was an Army veteran, serving during World War II. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He is survived by sons, Chris Warner and his wife Carol of Gypsum, Colo., and Scott Warner and his wife Cynthia of Land O’ Lakes, Fla.; grandchildren, Cassidy Warner of Denver, Colo., Colby Warner of Gypsum, Colo., and Hunter and Lydia Warner, both of Land O’ Lakes, Fla.; and brother, John Warner of St. Elmo.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Ralph, Richard and Henry.
