Georgia A. Johnson, 76, Greenville
Georgia A. Johnson, 76, of Greenville and formerly of rural Vandalia, died at 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009, at Fair Oaks Nursing Home in Greenville, where she had been under hospice care for the past two weeks.
In keeping with Mrs. Johnson’s wishes, no services will be held. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Hoquiam, Wash., next to her daughter, Debra Ann Johnson, who was killed in an auto accident in Spain in 1986. Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville was in charge of arrangements. Memorials: Bond County Hospice.
Mrs. Johnson was born on July 26, 1932, in Aberdeen, Wash., the daughter of Ora and Mamie Iline Goodwin Welever. She married William H. Johnson on Dec. 9, 1958, in Aberdeen.
She grew up in Gray’s Harbor County and attended public school there. Following her marriage, she and her husband lived on the Johnson farm northwest of Vandalia, where they reared their daughter. She became a licensed practical burse and worked at Fayette County Hospital and at Gray’s Harbor Hospital. In 1970, she and her husband moved to California, and four years later, they moved to Gray’s Harbor. They returned to Greenville in 2000.
She is survived by her husband; son, Ralph Blackwell of Seattle, Wash.; sister, Lillian Aldori of Davis, Calif.; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Debra Ann Johnson; son, Kenneth Blackwell; and sisters, Jean, Delores and Flora.
