Eileen Elifritz, 90, of Brownstown and formerly of Vandalia, died at 1:32 a.m. on Dec. 28, 2008, at Evergreen Rehab and Health Care in Effingham.
Services were held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia, with Pastor Tom Farris officiating. Burial was in Fairlawn Cemetery in Vandalia. Visitation was held from 9:30 a.m. until time of services on Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia. Memorials: First Church of God.
Mrs. Elifritz was born on Jan. 27, 1918, in Vera, the daughter of Clifford Campell and Nellie Nichols Denton. She married Floyd Martin Elifritz on May 12, 1947, in Morganfield, Ky.; he died on Nov. 30, 1990.
She was a retired employee of Johnson, Stephens and Shinkle Shoe Factory and Brockway, both of Vandalia. She was a member of First Church of God.
She is survived by a stepdaughter, Patricia McKown of Creve Coeur; two stepgrandchildren; six great-stepgrandchildren; two great-great-stepgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two daughters, a two brothers and a sister.
