Lorraine “Rainey” Floyd, 84, of Phoenix, Ariz., died on June 25, 2008, after an extended illness.
At Mrs. Floyd’s request, there was no memorial service. Memorials: Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, Ariz., 85014-5656.
Mrs. Floyd was born on Oct. 14, 1923, in Sefton, the daughter of William and Irma Chatham Gallup. She married William Ramsey of Evansville, Ind.; he preceded her in death. She married Wallace “Wally” Floyd.
She was a Tupperware team leader and member of the Order of the Eastern Star while she lived in Evansville, Ind., and she returned to Illinois and settled on a farm in Shobonier at age 42 to care for her parents. After she married Wally Floyd, they moved to Phoenix, Ariz., in 1978, to be near her daughter and grandchildren. She was a member of the Women of the Moose in Phoenix.
She is survived by her husband; daughter, Pam Daniels; grandchildren, Chad and Jennifer Daniels; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband; and siblings, Buell, Deon and Lavon.
