Edna Stuehlmeyer, 85, of Vandalia and formerly of Centralia, died at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday in Boggs Chapel at Styninger-Pacey Funeral Home in Centralia, with the Rev. Mark Girardin officiating. Burial will follow. Visitation will be held at the chapel an hour before services. Memorials: FAYCO Enterprises or Holy Cross Lutheran Church, both in Vandalia.
Mrs. Stuehlmeyer was born on Sept. 25, 1922, in Centralia, the daughter of Gus and Minnie Hoeinghaus Harting. She married Lawrence Stuehlmeyer on May 3, 1960, in Centralia; he preceded her in death.
She began with FAYCO Enterprises in 1991 and continued attending as often as possible each week. For the past 10 years, she had lived in the CILA facility on Rock Island Avenue in Vandalia. She was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Centralia and attended Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Vandalia.
She is survived by a brother, Edward Harting and his wife Virginia of Phoenix, Ariz.; sister, Margaret and her husband Charles Barker of Las Vegas, Nev.; sister-in-law, Marcella Harting of Centralia; brother-in-law, Alvin Sachtleben of Hoyleton; cousin, Ruth Bude of Centralia; and 20 nieces and nephews, including her guardian, Mary Gaither of Bethany.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Rudolph, Robert and Lawrence Harting; sisters, Esther Lembo, Dorothy Rosenberg, Laura Harting and Roberta Sachtleben; and two nieces.
