Pearl A. Herman, 89, of Coffeen, died at 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2008, at Montgomery Nursing and Rehab Center in Taylor Springs.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday at Toberman-Dean Funeral Home in Coffeen, with the Rev. Don Crafill officiating. Burial will be in Donnellson Cemetery, Donnellson. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials: Donnellson Cemetery.
Mrs. Herman was born on June 19, 1918, in Grisham Township, the daughter of Jarvis and Ida Logsdon Wilson. She married Joseph M. Herman on July 3, 1943, in St. Pats Cathedral in New Orleans, La.
She went to Prospect Country School in rural Donnellson and was a 1936 graduate of Hillsboro High School. She lived in Donnellson until moving to Coffeen in 1948. She worked as a secretary at Democrat headquarters in Hillsboro, Beckwith Abstract Co. and McDavid Abstract Co., for Draft Board No. 2 and was an assistant manager of Coffeen Grain Elevator, later known as Hewitt Ware Elevator.
She is survived by her husband.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Edith M. Tera and Gladys Hicks.
