Wayne A. Borchelt, 78, Arthur

Wayne A. Borchelt, 78, of Arthur and formerly of St. Peter, died at 2:37 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at Arthur Home in Arthur.

Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday at St. Peters Lutheran Church in St. Peter, with Pastors Bill Emrick and Paul McGhghy officiating. Burial with military rites will be in St. Peters Lutheran Cemetery, St. Peter. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until time of services on Friday at the church. Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia is in charge of arrangements. Memorials: St. Peters Lutheran Church or Arthur Home.

Mr. Borchelt was born on Aug. 15, 1929, in St. Peter, the son of Arthur Charles and Olga Hollman Borchelt. He married Violet L. Hap Voumard on July 20, 1952, in St. Peter.

He was the former owner and operator of Borchelt Lumber in St. Peter and general manager of Horizon Home Center in Arthur. He was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church, Rotary Club, St. Peter American Legion Post and Lumbermans Dealer Association, having served as the associations president and vice president.

He is survived by his wife; sons, Kevin Borchelt and his fiance Theresa Maddox of Evansville, and Todd Borchelt and his wife Sherry of Oswego; daughter, Debbie and her husband Scott Aubert of Atwood; sisters, Florence Flo Schuttner of Tulsa, Okla., and Helen and her husband Bill Jasper of St. Peter; grandchildren, Stephanie, Terri, Heather, Kristopher, Ryan, Kelsey, Carmen and Grant; and great-grandchildren, Aiden, Natalie and Victoria.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
