Henry Hank Leonard Ledbetter, 68, of St. Elmo, died at 12:45 p.m. on Friday, April 18, 2008, at his home.
No public visitation or funeral was held; a private family viewing was held. Burial will be in Griffith Cemetery in rural Brownstown at a later date. Kull Funeral Home in St. Elmo was in charge of arrangements. Memorials: Cancer Care Center, 905 Medical Park Drive, Effingham, or donors choice.
Mr. Ledbetter was born on March 31, 1940, in St. Elmo, the son of Floyd Leonard and Opal Evelyn Willis Ledbetter.
He was a member of First Christian Church in St. Elmo. He was a member of Boilermakers Union No. 697 of Phoenix, working out of Local Union No. 555 hall in the Granite City area, but had retired as a security guard from Fedders USA in Effingham.
He is survived by a son, Paul Leonard Ledbetter and his wife Karen of Effingham; daughter, Julie Ann Ledbetter of Vandalia; brother, Jim LeRoy Ledbetter and his wife Lora Lee of St. Elmo; grandson, Kris Ledbetter of Effingham; half brother, Joseph Allen Ledbetter and his wife Tracy of Altamont; half sisters, Paula Rae and her husband Joe Hatfill of St. Elmo, and Jodi Ann and her husband Tom Graumenz of St. Elmo; brother-in-law, Larry Huddlestun of St. Elmo; sisters-in-law, Dolly Ledbetter of Mulberry Grove, and Millie Ledbetter of St. Elmo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Andrew Wilson Webb-Ledbetter, Floyd Eugene Ledbetter and his wife Beverly, Robert Allen Ledbetter and his wife Cordelia, and Franklin Paul Ledbetter; sister, Barbara June James; half sister, Marlena Huddlestun; and sister-in-law, Rebecca Jane Becky Ledbetter.
