Shirley Ann Bimes, 76, of Perryville, Mo., and formerly of Greenville, died at 10:32 a.m. on Friday, April 4, 2008, at St. Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville, with the Rev. Carlos Bryant officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Auburn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of services on Saturday. Memorials: The family.
Mrs. Bimes was born on Dec. 13, 1931, in Greenville, the daughter of Jesse Theodore and Evelyn Fern Dewey Mayfield. She married Eddie D. Bimes Jr. on April 16, 1949, at Mulberry Grove Methodist Church; they later divorced.
She grew up in Greenville and attended public schools in Greenville, graduating from Greenville High School. She worked at Busy Bee Restaurant early in life. She has lived in St. Genevieve, Mo., for the past 36 years. She was a member of First Christian Church in Greenville and St. Genevieve Baptist Church.
She is survived by daughters, Deborah A. and her husband Rick Woelich, and Susan K. and her husband Tom Moll, both of St. Genevieve; grandchildren, Joseph, Sarah, Kristen, Zachary and Timothy; great-grandchildren, Alexander and Jonathon Woelich; bother, John Mayfield of Dalzell; sisters, Patricia and her husband the Rev. Carlos Bryant of Pontoon Beach, Genevieve and her husband Charles Hoffman of Carlyle, Janell Mayfield of Greenville, and Wilma Jean and her husband Boyd Bilderback of Cape Coral, Fla.; and special friends, Beverly Lohman and Shannon Forsythe of Perryville, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Benny, Floyd Buck and Thomas; and sister, F. Bonnetta Mayfield.
