Henry F. Beyes, 89, of Carlyle and formerly of Seminary Township in Fayette County and Northeast Missouri, died at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at St. Peter United Church of Christ in rural Smithboro. Burial with military rites will be in Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia and one hour before services on Saturday at the church. Mr. Beyes was born on Oct. 4, 1918 in Oakville, Mo., the son of Frederick Oscar Sr. and Anna Marie Behring Beyes. He married Loretta Finley on March 6, 1971, in Vandalia.
He was a farmer, and a member of St. Peter United Church of Christ in Smithboro and Crawford-Hale American Legion Post No. 95 of Vandalia.
He is survived by his wife; sons, John Beyes and his wife Linda of Creve Coeur, Mo., David Beyes and his wife Glenda of High Hill, Mo., and Karl Beyes and his wife Lola of Cameron, Mo.; daughter, Marsha and her husband Jim McClaren of Carlyle; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
