eoe’ The Ramsey Cub Scouts will hold an all-you-can-eat chili and soup supper from 5-8 p.m. at the American Legion Home in Ramsey. The menu includes a choice of chili or chicken noodle soup. The cost is $4.50 for adults and $3 for children age 8 and under.

eoe’ The Vandalia City Council will meet at 7:30 p.m. in the council chambers at the former city hall, 221 S. Fifth St.

eoe’ The Vandalia Rotary Club will meet at noon at Ponderosa Steakhouse.
eoe’ The La Leche League of Effingham will meet at 6 p.m. at the Assembly Church, located off of U.S.Route 45 in Effingham.
Wednesday, January 23
eoe’ A Project Parenting playgroup for children up through 5 years old will be held from 10-11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, St. Elmo.
eoe’ Bible Blitz will be held from 7-8 p.m. at Parkview Free Methodist Church, which is located at 1507 W. Jefferson St. in Vandalia, for all children age 3 through sixth-grade age. Bible Blitz includes Bible study, music, crafts and games. The church also offers a youth group for junior high- and high school-aged students, as well as an adult Bible Study. All gatherings are open to the public.
eoe’ TOPS IL 2020 will meet at 5:45 p.m. in the Fayette County Hospital conference room. Weigh-in is from 5-5:45 p.m.
Thursday, January 24
eoe’ The Illinois Department of Transportation will conduct a public meeting on the four-lane expansion of U.S. Route 51 south of Pana. The meeting will be held from 1-4 p.m. in the multi-purpose room at the Kaskaskia College Vandalia Campus.
eoe’ The Vandalia Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual banquet at the American Legion Home in Vandalia. A social hour runs from 6-7 p.m., and dinner is at 7 p.m. After dinner, the program will include the presentation of two Abe Awards, the presentation of the gavel by outgoing President Dave Bell to incoming President Doug Knebel and entertainment. Tickets, which are $22.50 each, are available at the chamber office.
eoe’ The Vandalia School District chorus chili supper will be held from 5-7 p.m. in the Vandalia Junior High School cafeteria. The menu will include chili with peanut butter sandwich or vegetable soup and hot dog with chips, along with various desserts. The cost is $4.50 per person. This is the final night of the eighth-grade basketball tournament.
