Special show coming to Fayette County Speedway on Friday
A special show will take place at Fayette County Speedway on Friday, and the special show from last Friday, which was postponed due to rain, will be made up at a later date this summer.
This Friday, the POWRi Midgets and 600cc Mini Sprints will be featured at the speedway. Regular racing of modifieds, street stocks, hornets and team cars will also take place.
Admission prices are: $30 for a pit pass; $15 for ages 13 and up in the grandstands; $5 for ages 8-12, with a paid adult, in the grandstands; and free for ages 7 and under, with a paid adult, in the grandstands.
The show from last Friday will be completed at a later date, and the racing will resume where it left off when the rain began. After that, a full feature show will take place.
At that show, the Monster Energy Sprint Car Series was featured.

Free kids fishing tournament coming to Vandalia on June 11
The Vandalia Sport Fishing and Conservation Club, in conjunction with Cumberland Trail Quail Unlimited, will host a free children's fishing tournament at Vandalia Lake on June 11.
The tournament will run from 10 a.m.-noon, is for kids ages 5-15 and prizes will be awarded to those children who catch the most fish.
All kids will fish exclusively off the bank of the lake and any type of bait or pole may be used.
The children will be fishing for bluegill and crappie, and all participants are encouraged to bring a bucket or other container to hold their fish.

Kaskaskia College to hold cheerleading clinics
The Kaskaskia College cheerleaders will be hosting two cheerleading clinics for area students. Both sessions are for students ages 4-14.
The first session will be held Thursday, June 23, and the second will be held Thursday, July 21. Both sessions will be held from 9-11 a.m., and the cost to attend each camp is $25 and includes a T-shirt.
Participants should meet in the KC gymnasium, and the camps will include jumps and sidelines, and cheers, builds and tumbling sessions.
