The Vandalia Sport Fishing and Conservation Club held its Classic Bass Tournament on Vandalia Lake on Oct. 19 and 20.
The tournament was the final one administered by club President John Blythe, who will step down from his position at the end of the year.
Mike Lindley will take over his duties.

Vandalia Lake hosted the fifth annual Illinois Collegiate State Bass Tournament on Sunday, and two of the participants were graduates of Brownstown High School.
Twenty-five two-man teams competed, with a Western Illinois University team topping the field with a 14.81-pound total. A McKendree University team placed second with a 12.17-pound total, and a team from the Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville Bassmasters Club was third with more than 11 pounds of bass.

The Vandalia Sport Fishing and Conservation Club held a kids fishing tournament on Saturday, June 8, in conjunction with the Cumberland Trail chapter of Quail Unlimited.
A total of 28 kids took part in the tournament, and 357 fish were caught.

The Vandalia Sport Fishing and Conservation Club will host a free youth fishing tournament on June 8 at the Lions Club Pavilion.
Youth ages 5-15 may enter the tournament, and will be fishing for bluegill and crappie from 10 a.m.-noon.
Any type of bait can be used, and all participants will fish off of the bank.
Prizes will be awarded in each class, with the youth divided into ages 5-10, and ages 11-15.
