Delmar David Denning “Ears” or “Little Spud,” 71, Dallas, TX

Delmar David Denning, also known as “Ears” or “Little Spud,” was born Dec. 25, 1954, in Vandalia. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on March 21, 2026, at Methodist Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 71.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Denning; his three children, Kayla Bergin and her husband, Dennis Jones, and their daughter, Denyla Jones; Clinton Denning; and Kacie Denning and her fiancé, Kevin Abad; as well as his brother, Mark Denning.

Delmar was happily retired. He enjoyed many things in life, including fishing, hunting, riding his motorcycle, woodworking, collecting items, playing pool, and going to the casino. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, whether traveling together or having movie nights at home and roasting hot dogs over a fire.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Delmar F. Denning and Stella Elizabeth Denning, and his siblings, Nancy Forbis and Richard Denning.

The Denning family will be hosting a Celebration of Life for the passing of Delmar Denning. It will be held at the Hawg Diner 1930 Us-51 Vandalia, on Sunday May 24, at 4 p.m. The family extends an invitation to share stories, smiles, and memories in honor of Denning.
