Brownstown Sports Hall of Fame Honors New Inductees

The newest class of athletes to be inducted into the Brownstown Sports Hall of Fame were celebrated on Thursday, January 15 during a girls home basketball game.

Nine new members were inducted into the Hall of Fame: Lowell Benefiel (class of 1949), Clark Bayles (class of 1963), Phil Sefton (class of 1972), Jeff Fulk (class of 1977), Justin Atwood (class of 1994), Katy Heckert-Noble (class of 2004), Coach Pete Johnson (coached 1938-1975), Coach Harlan Beckel (coached 1981-1998), and Deb Hunter (coached 1996 – present).

The Lady Bombers went on to defeat Altamont 57-18 following the induction ceremony.

Phil Sefton, class of 1972, was honored during last Thursday’s ceremony in Brownstown.

Deb Hunter, cheer coach since 1996, was inducted into the Brownstown Sports Hall of Fame.
